My Favorite Person

This is Benjamen.

Ben and I have been together for just over a year and I couldn't be happier. I'll be honest though, he wasn't always my favorite person. I know that sounds mean (for lack of a better word), but he wasn't. He was my boyfriend and my friend, but after this summer he has become my best friend and my favorite person. We had only been dating for two months last summer before I had to head back to school. For it being my first relationship, being long distance made it difficult to understand how real relationships are supposed to work. Yeah I had a pretty good idea, but I hadn't been anyone's girlfriend before, so I did my best with long sweet texts and he did his best with long sweet texts in return. After some time away at school and family troubles on my end, we were stuck. We were stuck in a weird place of being in a relationship but not getting to enjoy it. Each of the few weekends that I got to spend with him were filled to the brim with family events, trips to Ann Arbor, and anything else we could fit into one weekend. We didn't have time with each other. We had "time" but we didn't have time. You know what I mean? We were so busy that we never spent normal one-on-one time with each other. Well this summer things changed because we finally got that time. We became best friends. I find myself doing something as simple as riding my bike down the road or sitting in my room reading and wishing he could be there with me. Things are just more enjoyable when he's there. Not only is he my favorite person because I enjoy his company tremendously, but I love his mind and every thought that comes from it. Why wouldn't I want to spend all of my meaningless activities with him? And he's really cute, so that's a plus.

Take 324576

Okay, so maybe my title is a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm just trying to be real here! I have started an infinite amount of journals, blogs, and even books that I never keep up with. I am an avid Pinterest user though, and just yesterday I read a post about different types of readers and how to figure out which reader you are! You can too! Well.. I am a promiscuous reader. This means I often jump from book to book without ever returning to one I previously had started. I think that means I am a promiscuous blogger as well, but I am going to try to change that this year.

I am not very good at this considering I have never had one long enough to "get good" at blogging. So bear with me.
